The Council on Alcohol and Drugs-Houston provides services to adolescents (ages 13- 17) in need of treatment and support regarding alcohol and drug use. Their aim is to " keep our community healthy, productive and safe by providing services and information to all who may be adversely affected by alcohol and drugs."
Walk in appointments are available M-F beginning at 8:30am and are at a first come first serve basis. It is recommended that you come as early as possible because walk in appointments often fill up quickly. The Council on Alcohol and Drugs-Houston is a nonprofit organization and they do not turn anyone away for inability to pay fees.
Programs offered:
- Clinical Screening & Assessment – You are able to meet with a certified counselor regarding your concerns about alcohol consumption
- Therapy (Individual & Family) – In therapy sessions, teens will be able to explore the root of their alcohol use and learn appropriate ways to cope with abstaining from alcohol use. Family and individual therapy can be geared toward the entire family and help to shape attitudes/values about alcohol use.
- High - Behavior class for teens - An interactive and fun class that teaches teens life skills to help avoid drug use/abuse.
- Teen Hangout Room – Our comfortable space offers the perfect setting for sober socializing.
- Alternative Peer Group (APG) Referrals - Connect with other adolescents who are experiencing and have experienced the same issues with alcohol/drug use as you.
- There are also multiple programs that help to get parents involved and to help them understand adolescent drug use.

The Teenline is a fantastic and judgment free resource to point you in the right direction when thinking about seeking help for yourself or a friend with questionable alcohol usage.
TeenLink is open to any youth or parent that needs help, no matter what race, religion, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, or point of view. Although TeenLink does take in some personal information, it is ONLY used for statistical purposes and your privacy is guaranteed.
